The Bellwether for Reality (2025) – Patrick Abbott

Science fiction short stories

“Time Travel” follows John, a man preparing for a secret government mission to travel two years into the past. This mission comes with a dark precedent: a previous traveler, George, went back ten years and returned psychologically altered. Now John needs to go to past, find what happened to George and comeback to the present time.

Quite tired of sci-fi: today, I see no good reason to continue. But for me, and I hope for you too, it's been a lot of good times since 2019. All the best to you.
Edit: changed my mind.
I've always posted irregularly and I don't think that's going to change, that's just how I roll (no, I'm not bipolar). On the other hand, I need to recharge the batteries, so my absence will be longer than usual. See you on the other side, space cowboys.

I strongly suggest that you listen to your favorite instrumental (words deconcentrate) music while reading this piece of art.

“Let little Cappen go,” they shouted. “Maybe he can sing the trolls to sleep—”

First encounter tales, especially with language being an issue, intrigue me because of the cultural exchange angle. Here, communication and interpretation are key, leaving the reader to decide what the message is and if it is a good or bad thing (Patrick Abbott)
